Reaching for my Stars!

Deciding your “Big Five for Life” could be a tricky decision. However, for mine I’ve known for a while. I knew what my first “Big Five for Life” was when I was only six years old. I knew by first grade that I wanted to be a teacher. Since then I’ve done everything in my power to achieve that goal. My next “Big Five for Life” would have to be to get married. Then I would want my husband and me to travel the world. But, I wouldn’t want to travel the world just by plane; I would want to travel by as many different types of transportation as possible. My fourth “Big Five for Life” would be to have children. And finally I would want to have all my children live successful lives in whatever “success” will mean for each of them. I hope that none of my “Big Five for Life” will change when I get older, since I’m so close to achieve my first “Big Five for Life.”

Don't be One of the Twelve, Learn How Now!

Stalking is a series of actions that puts a person in fear for their safety. Stalkers will find you and follow you. Sometimes they will stalk you online with social networks such as Facebook, or they might call you, or even follow you places, even to your home or dorm. Like the picture above says, one out of twelve college women are stalked on facebook. Stalking can lead into more dangerous actions. For example, they can start feeling comfortable enough to actually hurt you. The first way you could prevent a stalker is if you do have a Facebook, put your profile and everything else about you on private. If that doesn’t work then your second advice is tell someone that could help. There are people all over that will help you. Even if you have the slightest fear, tell someone before it’s too late.
Stalking has got more popular over the years with how easy it is to stalk now in days. As I said before Facebook in my opinion is the easiest way to stalk someone. People aren’t always the smartest and give out too much information. With that information stalkers use it to their own advantage. For example, you can give out your cell phone number and address. On campus I think it would be an awesome idea to do a Facebook aware party in January, stalking awareness month, to tell people how powerful stalking really is and how they can do their part to stop it by not giving out too much information. I am on the board of RHA and we set up parties and give ideas to other buildings and I will defiantly tell them about this idea.

The Social Network Gone Wrong

In the article, The Dangers of Facebook, by Kashmir Hill, she explains how Facebook is good for some reasons, but on the other hand, it could lead to bad things. Hill says, “It’s a wonderful way to stay in touch with people’s lives, but it can also turn us into virtual stalkers, feeding neuroses and inflaming jealousies that would otherwise lie latent.” That is the best way to explain the whole article.

I think Facebook could be good, yet some people ruin everything. However, that goes for everything. It is a way to get in touch with old friends or even new friends, but to the point of stalking is when Facebook gets dangerous. Also, the dangers of bulling are enormous. I believe that Facebook should go back to only being for college students, or at least for mature users.

Think Before You Drink!

Clearly, driving drunk is not the way to drive. The poster definitely emphasizes the fact that it is not a good idea to drink and drive. If you look closely at the poster, the man is halved. One side of him is him parting and having a blast at a party with a pint of beer. However, the other side of him is him as a surgeon or maybe a patient with a pint of blood he might need if he gets into a severe car crash while at a party and he got drunk at.
In my opinion, I agree with this poster two hundred percent. Having fun at a party or get together is fine, however, do it responsibly and always have a designated driver. For example, have someone ready to drive you when you want to go somewhere or go home yet, they cannot be drunk as well. Another way you can go home without driving drunk is to call a cab. Getting a DUI is horrible. You could go to jail and have to deal with a ton of police. Or, you could have just called an available friend or cab.

"Boys Go to Jupiter to Get More Stupider, Girls Go to College to Get More Knowledge!"

The name of this video Why men don’t talk to women. Basically, this video is showing that all women are bitches. (Sorry SBS) This video was really rude and one sided. All the women that the poor little man went to talk to yelled at him then killed him. This happened continually for every girl he saw. Until he told a girl that he had money, was when she finally accepted him and told him that she loved him. I personally hated this video until the end. I thought that for some girls that would be totally true.  However, the video was brutal and reasonable to say that is how all girls are.

The Celebration of Our Nation!

Comparing and contrasting the two posters from below can be a lot easier then it seems. Take Poster 1, the poster with the American flag; it is much brighter and more patriotic. It honors all who gave up their lives for us, and also the ones who served and came back to tell us their stories. While Poster 2, the poster with the shoe print, is much darker and scary. The idea of Veterans Day to me is to be very patriotic and honorable to all those who gave their lives for us. That is why I chose Poster 1 to be the best poster of both of them.

Technology for a Grade!

I used SlideRocket for my midterm part 2. The technology is amazing! SlideRocket is much more advanced than the ordinary PowerPoint. In the beginning it was tricky to use this website, however after watching the tutorial it was much easier. I actually think I would do my project much differently. To explain, after seeing how other classmates used GoAnimate, I would have loved to use that website as well. Regardless, SlideRocket is a good website to keep in mind for the rest of my college life, and my future career.

The Transformation of your Outer Beauty!

Ponyo a young and magical fish wonders away from home to find that she gets stuck in a waste land of local’s trash from the island. Sosuke a young and caring boy finds her and feels the need to help this little, helpless “gold fish.” Little did he know he would become much closer to her then he would have ever imagined. On the other hand, Beauty and the Beast have an interesting relationship as well.
Ponyo and Sosuke live in different worlds; she lives in a beautiful oasis, with magical creatures surrounding her at every turn. While Sosuke lives in a more coddled environment. His mother is there to take care of him and love him and he talks to his father every chance he gets. They met caused by fate. It was their destiny to be together. Sosuke took Ponyo in when she was hurt and loved her. He took all the responsibility for her and never wanted her to ever leave. At the end of the movie he had to decide if he really loved her or not. Once he pronounced his love for her, she became human and they lived together.
In Beauty and the Beast, Beauty was really beautiful. Her name was Bella, and she was an odd girl in her small town. She was smart and was not scared to show it. The man in her town even liked her looks, but not so much her. While Beast, well he sure was a beast. He was horrible to Bella at first she didn’t want anything to do with him. He kept her prisoner, which was his first mistake. However, the mansion was sure a pretty place to be stuck in. Once Bella and Beast finally opened up to each other they both loved one and other and broke the spell Beast was in.
In both movies, they showed how true love is truly magical. Love can change everything about you or Ponyo or even Beast. Love will change the world and we get to see it all happen right in front of our faces, or TV screens.

Orange Juice, Apple Juice, Everyone Loves Fruit Juice!

The following is a comparison-contrast of two commercial: Commercial one is Motts Apple juice and commercial two is Ocean Spray juice. They are selling the same product which is juice, but they both have their own way of selling it to their audience. To compare them, Motts and Ocean Spray are both set out doors, and both have a motto. Motts is “Ready, Set, Grow” and Ocean Spray is “Grower Owned since 1930”.
However, to contrast them, Motts is selling to moms for their tots, when Ocean Spray is selling to everyone. Motts is semi-serious when they tell their audience that Motts is there for their children every set of the way, and explains that everyone as a child drinks Motts. On the other hand, Ocean Spray is humorous when they explain what they put in their juice and how their audience should buy their produce. Then again, Motts has a catchy song playing in the background the whole time the commercial is playing which makes their audience remember that commercial. Above all, Motts and Ocean Spray are both juice sellers and just want their audience to buy their product.

Cheating School Online

Plagiarizing is always happening. Even in colleges all over the country. Many students do not even understand how awful stealing words from other people are. One Liberian states “Because you’re not walking into a library, you’re not physically holding the article, which takes you closer to ‘this doesn’t belong to me,’ ” and also she says while talking about things you could find online, “everything can belong to you really easily” (Plagiarism Lines). Students can access information about any topic much more easily now that everything is online, so copy and paste is always an easy way out of working.
I completely believe that plagiarizing is easy and it happens all the time. Also, in the article it said that many people stealing movies and music online. This is entirely true as well. We can steal information such as movies, music, and other people’s words extremely easily and not feel bad at all. For example, many of us were taught not to go into a store and steal their merchandise. Copy and pasting isn’t really stealing a physical item so many people don’t feel as bad for plagiarizing.

Weather at its Saddest.

Static electricity is at its peak, and your hair is hardly able to contain itself. Clouds up above are rolling throughout the entire sky, just hovering. You can feel that this will be a frightening storm. How the air is so thick, and soaked with moister. How it smells like rain. Yonder, the rain is beginning to run towards you, like a whole football team running to tackle you for the ball. Here it is! The temperamental rain is all around you randomly caressing you. Time is the only cure for this storm to pass, the sadness will end soon.

Bribe your way to a kiss!

Kisses are highly seductive. The way kisses melt in your mouth and make your senses yearn for more. Addicting hardly starts to describe the way they are. They're remarkably soft, like a single touch of a fresh red rose petal. If anyone offers you a kiss never refuse, that is for a Hershey kiss of course.
